More recent developments
The other day Jack and I were at the library. As we left and walked up the ramp from the Children's section, the lights came on. Jack was delighted to count how many lights were on (a couple were out). Then one of the ones that WAS on went OFF and it was making Jack NUTS! He kept pointing to it and telling me to turn it back on! I kept trying to explain that I didn't know where the switch was, but he wasn't having any excuses!
from Daily Record Feb. 19, 2010:
Jack enjoyed visiting room 3 with Tycco this morning. They only have 4 children, so they open door for free-flow.* Jack helped them make a new batch of play-dough. :)
*(All doors open onto the enclosed playground, so if a classroom leaves their door open, anyone from another class is welcome to come in and visit)
February 17, 2010:
Jack was excited to show all his friends his hat from Paul. He had the hat on the whole time.*
*Jack loves our garbage man (Paul). Every Wednesday we go out to the street and watch him pick up the trash and recycling (black can! blue can!) from all the houses on our street. We have an exceptional garbage man who not only has always done an above-and-beyond job for us, but recently gave Jack a hat exactly like his! Then Jack lost it on a walk at school, so Paul brought him a new one. Actually he brought two (one for back up). Now Jack wears one and carries the other one around with him.
February 15, 2010:
Jack Jack enjoyed playing in the sandbox with Tycco this morning. The two kept scooping sand in the sandbox and then dumping it back out. *Jack was exhausted and when asked if he wanted to nap he said, "yes".
February 12, 2010
Jack Jack enjoyed playing with Julia this morning. He laid on the baby doll cot while Julia put a blanket over him to nap him. :)
February 8, 2010
Jack had fun playing with the cars and trucks outside. He made a siren sound for the firetruck and told me it was going to "the zoo" We made a tunnel out of teacher Emily's legs & he had fun pushing the trucks through the tunnel. :)

!
This is a picture of Jack in his "Match Papa" hat.
Jack has been curious about exclamation points for a while now and just in the past couple days he started saying "...ma-tion point!" He's still figuring out what makes a letter "i" and what makes an "!", but I have confidence he'll get it before too long.
Today we went on a hike in the Headlands. Jack saw too newts and spent a long time crouching down next to them and saying, "Hi Lizard. Lizard? Hi Lizard"
He also rode on Papa's shoulders and when they jumped over puddles Jack would say "Good jump Papa!"
This afternoon he and papa went and threw a ball through a kid's basketball hoop that the neighbors left when they moved. Jack loves it, it's one of the few things that can drag him away from Kipper the Dog videos.

Jack is back!
Hi Everybody
Well, I thought my entire schedule was going to empty once that thesis exhibition went up but well, it hasn't. I'm currently scheduled to do seven tours of the exhibit, I've begun a series of about twelve interviews for an independent study I'm doing and my boss and I were approved to take the next step towards an art grant.
Nonetheless! I am determined to bring you all up to speed on the exciting and ever-changing life of Jack. I've got about 100 daily reports from daycare, and pictures from over the winter, so in addition to letting you know what Jack sings in the car these days, (Garbage...garbage truck...TRASH!) I'll also be rewinding through the last couple months.
I took this picture of Jack at the playground this morning. We rode over to the playground behind the DeYoung museum, then went over to the Academy of Sciences for a little interlude with the starfish and some time playing in the Explorers Cove.
Yesterday's Daily Record (February 10, 2010):
Jack crawled back and forth through the tunnel outside today. After he told me "I don't fit." he decided to climb on top. He said "riding the engine! All aboard!" He made train sounds & pretended to drive the train.
