Blue trash, black trash, green trash.

So you are well aware by now that Jack loves the garbage trucks, our sanitation expert, and the recycling/compost/trash bins. We got these posters at the building when composting became city-wide and Jack said, "Mama, get some tape!" We still go out every Wednesday to watch Paul pick up the trash on our block. Last week Jack, normally bashful around his hero finally waved good-bye as Paul drove away.

go Jack go!

Jack is going a mile a minute. It's hard to keep up with everything he says and does. Here's a couple great pictures Sean took. Jack really likes digging in the sand at the beach. He just keeps going until we tell him it's dark and his hands are cold and we have to go home. He loves making cakes in the sand at the playground too. We put sticks in for candles and sing "Happy Birthday" to Grandma, Nana, Tycco, Anna, Mama, Papa, pretty much anyone Jack loves gets a sand cake. He's also started helping us work in the garden. We pull weeds and Jack puts them in the green trash. Jack still loves the trash, the garbage trucks and of course, Paul, the garbageman.

Happy Esther 2010

I'm a little backlogged again. Thesis binder due this week, but I had to post a couple pictures from Sunday. We went to an Easter egg hunt at the home of one of the girls in Jack's swimming class. He had a really great time. I think Jack likes parties. Great food, great folks. Jack found three eggs with prizes inside and wanted to go look for more even after they were all found. In the middle picture Jack is looking at one of those sugar eggs with the little animals inside (bunnies, chicks, etc.). He wanted to take the chicken out of the egg but I tried to explain that it's the chick's house. Jack doesn't know what to do with candy or chocolate, and we figure he'll figure out sugar all on his own without us pushing it, so we put in apples, oranges, eggs that we dyed together the night before with Jack's name on one, and outside toys to celebrate spring. Jack was especially excited about the fancy sidewalk chalk and couldn't wait to use it. He tore about the pinwheel in less than 10 minutes, which is why we got a back up.

Jack spent a lot of time coloring with markers outside. He took three markers in one hand and said "3 colors!" Then he told his friend Anna he wanted to "help make blue lines." Teacher Emily drew letters and names and Jack pointed to them and said them all out loud. :)
